Meet The Founders

Carla Gail Tibbo dedicated much of her career to developing and utilizing market, business, and socio-economic intelligence and information, to assist businesses in charting their futures. Peggy Tibbo-Cameron (Gail’s sister) created national culture and heritage information systems and was responsible for cultural research. So, both are steeped in gathering, curating, and protecting information.

When their husbands died, coincidentally 2 weeks apart, in 2020, and their mother a year before that, they were left with information gaps, despite thinking that all affairs were in order. Their professional backgrounds, together with their shared personal experience, led them to delving into the idea of developing a tool for comprehensive personal information collection.

Although they live on opposite ends of Canada, they have worked together to create MyLifeFiles. Together they are a strong, multitalented team that enjoy a great laugh and a good glass of wine….

The Exit Planner

In 2012. Laura Fines and Glenda Leznoff developed “Exit”, a life planner, designed as a guide designed to help users organize their important personal information and documents in preparation for major life changes.

When Gail connected with Laura through a book club, she purchased a copy of the Exit book for herself, and one for Peggy. They found the book useful and thorough, and they also found the concept very thought-provoking. It aligned perfectly with the information gaps they had identified.

And they saw an opportunity to create the next generation of the planner – that personal information tool!

Gail contacted Laura, who said she wasn’t going to publish the print version again, and that she thought it needed some fresh eyes, reworking and rethinking. Three things were clear. First, the planner could be produced in on-line format for wider distribution, storing, and updating the information. Second, marketing the planner widely would make it available to
a broader audience. And third, users would benefit from having some complementary information to assist in generating and maintaining their own life planner. Gail and Peggy believed there was a lot of additional information and resources that would be
beneficial to users that could be included. Laura, the original creator of the Exit project, agreed
to collaborate, and she was happy to see her work reimagined into this new generation!

And so MyLifeFiles was created.

We hope it is useful and meaningful to you.

MyLifeFiles is not just those facing major life changes – it is critical for everyone! Get started creating your life planner.
